This policy explains what personal information Gleam Auto Valeting & Detailing Studio collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have.

Who we are

Gleam Auto Valeting & Detailing Studio (“Gleam”, “we”, “us”) is a car valeting and detailing studio at 18B Loughdoo Road, Ardkeen, Newtownards, County Down, BT22 1HN. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

To contact us about your information, call or WhatsApp 07809881859, use the contact form, or write to us at the address above.

What we collect and why

Enquiries through the contact form

The contact form asks for your name, phone number, email address and details of your request. We use this to reply to you and to arrange and carry out any booking. Your message is emailed to us and a copy is stored in the website’s database.

Our lawful basis is to take steps at your request before a booking, and our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries.

Phone, WhatsApp and social media

If you call, message us on WhatsApp or contact us through Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, we receive the details you choose to share, such as your phone number or profile name, and use them to reply and arrange your booking. Those platforms process your information under their own privacy policies.

Reviews

The review form asks for your rating, a title, your review, your name and your email address. Reviews may be shown on this website with the name you give. We do not publish your email address; we only use it if we need to check or follow up on your review.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in sharing genuine customer feedback.

Spam protection

Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to check that they are being filled in by a person. reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you use the page and sends it to Google. Google’s privacy policy and terms apply.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping our forms free of spam.

Website analytics

If you accept analytical cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the website, for example which pages are viewed, how visitors found us, their approximate location and the type of device used. We use this to improve the website. Google Analytics cookies are not set unless you accept them.

Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the cookie settings button.

Maps and fonts

The contact page shows an embedded Google Map, and the website’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When these load, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address, and the map may set its own cookies.

Cookies

When you first visit, a banner asks which cookies you are happy to accept. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie in detail.

  • Necessary: cookies that keep the website working, remember your cookie choice and help keep the forms secure. These are always on.
  • Analytical: Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID), which last up to two years. These are only set if you accept them.

Who we share information with

  • Our website hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
  • Our email service, which delivers form messages to us.
  • Our website support provider, Juggernaut Technologies, which maintains the website and only accesses information when needed to do that work.
  • Google, for reCAPTCHA, Google Analytics (with your consent), Google Maps and Google Fonts.

We do not sell your personal information.

Some of these providers, such as Google and Meta (which owns WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram), may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer relies on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or approved contract terms.

How long we keep information

  • Enquiries: we keep website enquiries for up to 12 months. If an enquiry leads to a booking, we keep the details we need for that booking and our business records for as long as we need them.
  • Reviews: for as long as the review is shown on the website.
  • Analytics: in line with the data retention setting in our Google Analytics account.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • delete your information
  • limit how we use your information, or object to us using it
  • give you your information in a format you can pass to someone else, where this applies

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
